(CBS) According to a report from the Chicago Tribune, Joe McEwing, the current manager of the White Sox’s Triple-A Charolette, will take over for Jeff Cox as third base coach.

McEwing and manager Robin Ventura were teammates together with the New York Mets.

Additionally, Jeff Manto is likely to be named the hitting coach, the Tribune reports. Manto has been in the Sox’s organization since 2008 as the minor league hitting coach and is familiar with many of the Sox’s minor league prospects.

Tim Laker, who joined the organization last winter as the hitting coach at Charlotte, also is under consideration.
