The woman is identified as Joyce Thomas, who lived on the next block east. She was pronounced dead at 4:29 p.m. Tuesday at Stroger Hospital of Cook County.

Thomas was in the crosswalk in a motorized wheelchair when the wreck occurred, police said. Police say she might have been walking her dog at the time.
