Cutler: I Don't Want To Take A Sack

(CBS) Jay Cutler can't possibly be too thrilled when he lines up behind the five offensive linemen the Bears continue to trot onto the field week in and week out.

Getting thrown the ground by massive defenders gets old. It appears the only way for Cutler to avoid becoming a human doormat is to get the ball out of his hands as quickly as possible.

"I'd like to see that happen," Cutler said,

Cutler admitted the constant lack of a pass rush is starting to affect his decision-making on the field.

"Physically, (the rush) is not that big of a deal," Cutler said. "Mentally, it just speeds up my clock. This makes you uneasy in the pocket. You take your eyes from downfield and you check to see what's going on. Psychologically and mentally, it's more than anything. I just don't want to take a sack. I am trying to get rid of the ball as fast as possible."

If the Bears offensive line can't get a block, something is going to have to change.

"And at a certain point you are going to have to evaluate what you can do in the passing game and what you can't do," Cutler said. "That's not up to me, though, that's up to those (coaches)."
