Police say Deja was angry when he found out his adopted daughter, 20, had a boyfriend. This prompted him to hire his brother as a hitman to kill both the young woman her boyfriend, police said.

Prosecutors began investigating Deja in July, after they learned of allegations that he had been sexually abusing his adopted daughter since she was 16.

Investigators learned that the young woman has 3-year-old daughter of her own who was fathered by Deja, police said.

Police say Deja became angry and kicked the young woman out of the family home upon learning about her boyfriend.

"The victim is now pregnant again, with either her boyfriend or Robert Deja being the father," police said in a written statement.

Deja then allegedly "contacted his brother and advised him that he wanted the boyfriend and victim killed," police said in the statement.
