Joliet Boy Accused Of Carrying Molotov Cocktails

JOLIET (CBS) -- A young boy spotted by witnesses carrying two firebombs was arrested Saturday.

Witnesses who saw the 12-year-old boy with Molotov cocktails called police around 8 p.m. Saturday to the 500 block of Elmwood, Joliet Police Chief Mike Trafton said.

When police arrived, they boy was gone, but officers found the devices--and one piece of incriminating evidence.

"Officers responded and found a bottle with a flammable liquid and a paper wick. A family name and address were printed on the paper," Trafton said. "Officers went to the residence and found the boy who was identified as the suspect."

The youth was arrested on a charge of possession of an incendiary device and booked into the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center.
