(CBS) The Lions acquired running back Ronnie Brown from the Eagles Tuesday for Jerome Harrison and an undisclosed 2013 draft pick.

Brown has 13 carries for 38 yards this season, but was benched after a costly fumble against the 49ers in Week 4.

The Lions badly needed help at running back as Jahvid Best continues to recover from multiple concussions. The team obviously feels Brown will provide more depth than Harrison. Maurice Morris will continue to receive carries.
