Sooo…last night, the Blackhawks destroyed the Phoenix Coyotes.  I mean…just destroyed them.  It wasn’t close on the ice or on the score sheet.  It was 60 minutes of domination.  When all was said and done, the Hawks won 5-2.  So why do I have an empty feeling in my hockey soul this rainy morning?

Really?  2 PIMs?

When the Blackhawks signed Daniel Carcillo…I was promised certain things.  I was promised I would tire of his antics.  I was told he would too often go off the deep end.  I was told he would take bad penalties and cost the Hawks points because of his BS.

Well, all I’ve seen from “Carbomb” is a perfectly acceptable 2nd line winger, who has shown speed, hands, and even a little creativity.  The line of Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa and Carcillo has been the Hawks’ best offensive line, and he’s a big part of that success.

So, I should be happy, right?  I should be satisfied that Carcillo has kept his head and been a total attribute to the Hawks, right?

Well, maybe it’s the meatball in me, but I’m not.  I want Carcillo chirpy.  I want him fighting and hitting.  His first shift as a Hawk, he delivered four solid checks.  He’s been hitting consistently since then, but where’s the Car Bomb?  Where’s the chaos?  I haven’t even yelled, “Damn it Carcillo!” yet.

Look at last night.  With Raffi Torres and Paul Bissonnette  on the Phoenix roster, everyone expected the Car Bomb to blow off, and leave all around him in ruins.  Those two guys are just begging for a beating, especially Torres, who Carcillo called out by name is his introductory press conference.  Well, it didn’t happen, but the Hawks won…easily.

Maybe he’s a changed man.  Maybe Coach Q has put the muzzle and leash on him.  Maybe he’s a kinder, gentler Car Bomb this season.  I doubt it.  I think maybe he just had his wick extended…but when that bomb goes off… #boom.
