HS Coach Crosses Line

(WSCR) Coaches, especially in high school, are there to get the very best they can out of their players.

Whether it’s an encouraging word or a stern warning, their soul purpose is motivate.

So what happens when a high school coach crosses the line from an encouraging word into a profanity-laced rant?

    Yes, he crossed the line. Coaches need to push their athletes to the limit. It is not ever appropriate to rant. Ranting coaches and educators are the main reason that the profession doesn’t enjoy the respect it once enjoyed.

    As a longtime educator, I am deeply offended by this man. I consider it a good policy to speak loudly about when pushing students and athletes to be their best and don’t take “No” for an answer. When it is necessary to reprimand, speak slowly and deliberately. IT is the only way to maintain the respect that a teacher/coach needs to be effective, as I see it. This coach doesn’t need anger management or counseling. He needs to be fired so he will be free to look for work that better suits him.
