La Russa To The Sox?

(WSCR) Tony La Russa may be out as the Cardinals manager, but he may not be out of baseball.

Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune poses the idea of La Russa heading back to the South Side to work as a special advisor for Jerry Reinsdorf and the White Sox. La Russa managed under Reinsdorf for the White Sox in the 80’s.

“I think it would have to be for an owner I know, like Reinsdorf, the Haas family, the people here (in St. Louis),’’ La Russa said. “Those are the owners I’ve known, the ones I’d want to make happy.’’

  • Competition From North Side too

Tony will be the Shadow Manager. Reinsdorf must not be happy with Kenny’s choice for manager, Robin Ventura.

The Chairman wants another World Series championship, not a 4th place finish.

  • Philpot Kid

Forget it ! Reinsdorf (the Bernie Madoff of baseball) won’t pay the $$$$ (unless he can get the State of Illinois to pay it) that self-appointed Genius Tony LaRussa will want. Also, Kenny Williams won’t want to give up any of his face-time with the media as he had to with Ozzie.
