(CBS) Devin Hester was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month Thursday after scoring two special teams touchdowns in October.

Hester averaged 16.3 yards per punt return and 30.9 per kickoff return in the month. He recorded a 69-yard punt return touchdown and a 98-yard kickoff return touchdown as well, making him in the only player in the NFL to record both a punt and kickoff return touchdown in October.

Hester now has 17 return touchdowns (11 punt, five kickoff, one missed field) in his career.

This is Hester’s third career Player of the Month Award (Dec. 2006, Sept. 2007), the most in Bears history.
