CHICAGO (WBBM) – So, it’s the 4th quarter, and you might think no one’s hiring right? Wrong. There are companies that are hiring in November.

CareerBuilder.com says there are about a dozen companies who are now hiring. A few of them are in Chicago, others are hiring nationwide. The global food and agribusiness corporation Bunge has 50 openings right now for a variety of positions including senior accountant, engineers and human resource managers.

Chico’s clothing store has more than a thousand in-store positions nationwide. Panera Bread, Transportation company FirstFleet and Pharmaceutical company InVentiv Health are hiring nationwide. Macy’s has 78,000 positions open for holiday retail sales nationwide. PNC Bank has openings in Chicago and Milwaukee. Walden Security has 50 openings nationwide for unarmed security officers.

of course the job hiring #’s are UP. temporary jobs for the holidays. duh. just look at the photo that accompanies this story. jan 1: unemployment will go back up.

We are creating a cadre of permanently unemployed people because of hiring policiies prohibition the hiring of those unemployed for six months or more. In a market which is the worse since the 1930′s depression, this is no way a sign of laziness and I don’t see how it can be justified. If nothing else, may the court of public opinion come to the rescue on this one.
