Man Dies After Being Shot In Lawndale Drive-By

CHICAGO (STMW) - A man died after being shot in a drive-by the Southwest Side Lawndale neighborhood early Saturday.

The man, identified as Emandrell Crum, 22, of an unknown address, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, was shot in his side the 1300 block of South Troy Street about 2:14 a.m., police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said. He was initially taken to Mount Sinai hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 2:57 a.m.

He and a 23-year-old woman were struck by rounds fired from a passing green vehicle, Mirabelli said. The woman sustained a graze wound to her head and went to Mount Sinai Hospital on her own, where she was in "stable" condition Saturday morning.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
