OAK BROOK, Ill. (CBS) – Armed robbers hit the upscale flagship McDonald’s restaurant at company headquarters in Oak Brook over the weekend.

As WBBM Newsradio’s Mike Krauser reports, around 10:35 p.m. Sunday, two men walked into the McDonald’s restaurant in the 1100 block of West 22nd Street in Oak Brook.

McDonald’s headquarters is at McDonald’s Plaza, 2111 McDonald’s Dr.

Police said both men pulled handguns, and ordered employees to the ground.

The men demanded money from the registers and after they got an undisclosed amount of cash, they fled.

Since the robbery, police have been reviewing surveillance video, and are considering the possibility that the robbers are the same ones who hit the McDonald’s flagship restaurant on Aug. 14, the Daily Herald reported.

In that incident, the robbers pulled a long-gun on the cashier at the drive-up window, and made off with cash, the newspaper reported.

The sport-utility vehicle used in that robbery, a Toyota 4-Runner, was recovered, and turned out to have been stolen, the Daily Herald reported.

Anyone with information should call police at (630) 368-5060.

The Sun-Times Media Wire contributed to this report.

  • Tim

They were more than likely black. Is cbs afraid to say it?

    • Keyshawn

I don’t see any reason to be scared. If they were black, they were black. It is what it is, why cover it up? We all should be aware of who is commiting this kind of crime. It helps with the very important act of racial profiling!
