Missing Aurora Girl, 12, Found Safe

AURORA TWP. (CBS) — A 12-year-old west suburban girl reported missing by her mother on Tuesday has been returned home safely, police said Wednesday.

Kane County Sheriff’s deputies were notified about 10:15 a.m. Tuesday that Desiree Olivarez of the 900 block of Ridgeway in unincorporated Aurora Township had not come home. Her mother reported that she left the house about 4:45 p.m. on Monday.

Desiree was last seen in the Aurora area by a friend at about 8 p.m. Monday. Police do not suspect foul play and encourage anyone with information to call 911.

The sheriff’s office issued a statement on Wednesday saying simply that Desiree “has returned home.”

There should be more information. This is all too common. Maybe her family should reimburse the police department.
