Burger King Worker: Boss Groped Me, Company Retaliated For Complaint

PALATINE, Ill. (CBS) -- A 24-year-old northwest suburban woman says she is filing a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission because she was attacked by her boss and when she went to the police, the company retaliated against her.

Airsa Pineda works for a Burger King in Palatine. Through a Spanish language interpreter, she claimed on Monday that her boss groped her this summer.

"In July of this year, I was sexually harassed by one of the male managers that I was closing the restaurant with," Pineda said. "That night, he approached me from behind while I was cleaning and he touched me inappropriately, against my will."

And then she says he attacked her and she went to police, who arrested the manager.

"Shortly after I reported what had happened to me, the company began to retaliate against me," Pineda said.

Pineda says Burger King took her off the schedule, while the manager continues to work for Burger King.

Burger King did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
