Chris Williams Heads To IR After Wrist Surgery

(CBS) Left guard Chris Williams was placed on injured reserve Monday and will miss the rest of the season after having wrist surgery Sunday night.

Edwin Williams replaced Chris Williams during Sunday's win over the Lions and will likely remain in that position. With left tackle still recovering from a knee injury, Frank Omiyale remains the Bears' only healthy backup offensive lineman.

The Bears also waived defensive end Nick Reed Monday and signed Chauncey Davis to replace him. Davis played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2005-10 playing in 96 games, while starting 25 of them.
