Miller: Bennett's Return Gives Bears Options

(WSCR) After two and a half seasons in Chicago, it appears quarterback Jay Cutler finally has the target he's been looking for.

Though Earl Bennett has been here since Cutler joined the Bears in 2009, he and Cutler have clicked in the two games since Bennett returned from injury. The duo hooked up for 176 yards on 11 receptions with a touchdown in the past two games.

"(Bennett) is excellent at reading coverages," Jim Miller told The McNeil and Spiegel Show on Monday. "He's a big enough body that he can muscle any defensive back that's on him, and he's a sure-handed receiver. Plus, he communicates well with Jay. ... I think that's very telling. Two weeks in a row, this guy has been the Bears leading receiver. That tells you how much confidence Jay has in him. He truly is the go-to guy.

"Other than (Matt) Forte, he's the next straw that stirs the drink for the offense. That's a good thing with the offensive line coming together. Now teams have to start focusing on Earl a little bit more -- it takes a little bit more pressure off Matt Forte, and just allows Jay a bigger buffet to choose from when he's ordering his plays."
