(WSCR) While some have criticized Joe Paterno for his alleged lack of action in the sexual abuse scandal surrounding his football program, one former player has done the exact opposite.

Former Penn State running back Franco Harris came out in support of Paterno, and it cost him an endorsement with Meadow Race Track and Casino.

Harris wasn’t fired for “supporting” Joe Paterno. He was fired because he did so very publicly and very viciously at a time when doing so is a major PR risk. That may be a subtle difference, but it IS a difference.
