Skokie Police Seek Help With Man Missing Since August

SKOKIE (CBS) -- Police in Skokie are seeking help from the public to solve the case of a man missing since August.

Zunair Tariq, 23, was last seen on Aug. 28 at his home in the 7600 block of Lowell. He was reported missing on Sept. 17, but his family did not want police to notify the public until all leads had been exhausted, according to a news release.

Tariq suffers from mental health problems and is known to have drug and alcohol dependency issues. Tariq may have been in West Virginia on or around Aug. 30, and New York City on or around Sept. 12.

Tariq left his residence by unknown means and without taking any personal possessions.

Until now, the Skokie Police Department has been actively following all leads. The family had asked that the press not be notified until all leads had been exhausted.

If you have any information, please contact the Skokie Police Department Investigations Unit at 847-982-5958.
