Report: Nationals Make Big Push For Buehrle

(CBS) Mark Buehrle has been tabbed as the Washington Nationals’ top free agent target with general manager Mike Rizzo visiting the left-hander’s St. Louis home Monday, according to the Washington Post.

Many believe Buehrle would be better suited in the National League and the Nationals would love to put him in a rotation that already includes Stephen Strasburg and Jordan Zimmermann.

The Nationals first met with Buehrle’s representatives last week at the general managers’ meetings in Milwaukee, according to the report.

I wish Buhrle all the best and thank him for what he has done for the Chicago White Sox. However, as a Nationals fan as well, I may be a bit bias, but the Nat’s are the team with the best young prospects and Mark knows it. They will be contenders in 2 years or so. Add another ring for yourself Mark!
