CHICAGO (CBS) — This is the story about a couple who remained cool, calm and collected overnight when they got a flat tire on the way to the hospital to have a baby.
As WBBM Newsradio’s Bernie Tafoya reports, Illinois State Police say the couple called for help inbound on the Eisenhower Expressway at Independence Boulevard around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Yes, they were about to have a baby. But their first concern was the flat tire on their car.
An Illinois Department of Transportation minuteman changed the flat, and although Chicago Fire Department paramedics showed up to help the pregnant woman, the couple said thanks, but no thanks.
Illinois State Trooper Ivan Buckaczyk says the couple went to the hospital on their own.
A baby boy was born soon afterward.
