(WSCR) Shortly after news broke that the Broncos had released Kyle Orton, NFL expert Hub Arkush joined The Boers and Bernstein Show to discuss the likelihood of the Bears pursuing their former quarterback.

“He did get a decent contract from the Broncos — not a big contract, but a decent contract,” Arkush said. “If you claim him on waivers, you’re inheriting that contract. There’s only six weeks left, but would you rather play 6/16 of about $4 or $5 million, or would you rather pay it of the veteran minimum? So the Bears, even if they want him, are going to play a little poker and say, ‘Do we claim this contract or do we take the chance that he’ll clear all 32?” If he, in fact, wants to be here, then you should be able to get him for a little less money.”
