CHICAGO (STMW) — A woman in her 50s was shot in the leg while delivering pizzas Wednesday night on the Far South Side.

The woman was shot in the thigh during a robbery in the 400 block of West 117th Street about 6:07 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

The woman was taken from her workplace at 111th and Halsted streets to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in good condition, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said.

He said the woman is a pizza delivery driver and was working at the time.

Barney’s Pizzeria is located at 11101 S. Halsted St., but a manager there declined comment Wednesday night.
