Police: Three Dead, 8 Wounded In Weekend Shootings

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men and a teenager were shot dead and at least eight other people -- including two teenagers -- were wounded during a bloody 12 hours Saturday afternoon and early Sunday.

The first murder happened about 3:45 p.m. Saturday when 16-year-old Dale Fisher was shot multiple times, authorities said.

Somebody inside a two-door silver vehicle shot the boy twice in the chest in the 6200 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue, police said. Fisher, of 7732 S. Langley Ave., was pronounced dead at 4:24 p.m. at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

About 10:50 p.m. Saturday, a 37-year-old man – identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as Lorenzo Johnson -- was found dead with a gunshot wound to the abdomen area inside an apartment in the 6200 block of South Elizabeth Avenue, police said. Earlier, police found a man shot in the chest on a back porch of the same building, but police are still investigating if the two shootings are related.

In the earlier shooting, somebody inside a dark-colored Buick shot a 24-year-old man in the chest as he stood on a corner in the 6300 block of South Racine Avenue about 2:25 p.m., police said. He was found on the back porch of the apartment building and taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital.

About 1:55 a.m., police found 20-year-old Edward Clark dead on a sidewalk in the 4700 block of North Winthrop Avenue with a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said.

About 2:15 p.m. Saturday, a 36-year-old man was shot in the right arm in the 6300 block of South King Drive and taken in good condition to Saint Bernard Hospital, police said.

About 6:30 p.m. Saturday, a 57-year-old woman was shot in the leg while in a bathroom in the 4000 block of East 134th Street, police said. She was taken to Franciscan St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond, Ind.

Around the same time, a 42-year-old man was shot in the 200 block of North Western Avenue and taken in "stable" condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

About 8:45 p.m. Saturday, a man in his 30s was shot in the leg in the 5400 block of North Artesian Avenue, police said.

About 10:50 p.m. Saturday, a 16-year-old boy and 18-year-old man walking in the 3600 block of East 99th Street were shot in an apparent gang-related drive-by attack, police said.

The teen was shot in the back and taken in serious condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. The man was shot in the buttocks and taken in good condition to Advocate Trinity Hospital.

About 12:45 a.m., a 13-year-old girl was shot in the chest in the 2100 block of West 71st Street and taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center, police and fire officials said.
