Fire Crews Rush To Mag Mile High-Rise For Small Fire
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Fire crews rushed to a high rise on the Magnificent Mile Friday and put out a small fire within five minutes.
Crews were called to the office building at 444 N. Michigan Ave. about 10:45 a.m. for a report of a fire.
The fire was confined to an electrical panel and was out within five minutes, Fire Media Affairs Director Larry Langford said.
The 36-story building houses a variety of offices, and a Starbucks Coffee on the ground floor.
Traffic was redirected around the building, at Michigan Avenue and Illinois Street, as fire crews responded. No one was injured during the brief incident, Langford said.
