CHICAGO (STMW) – A man implying he had a weapon robbed a Lakeview bank branch inside a Jewel-Osco grocery Saturday afternoon on the North Side.
The man approached a teller inside a TCF Bank branch in the 3600 block of North Southport Avenue about 1:40 p.m. and implied he had a weapon, police News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, O’Brien said. Nobody was injured.
The bank is inside a Jewel-Osco grocery at 3630 N. Southport Ave.
The man is described as a white, approximately 35 to 45 years old, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6, wearing a black leather jacket, spotted hoodie, black hat and black gloves, according to the FBI.
The FBI and Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
