CHICAGO (CBS) — All lanes on Interstate 57 were back open in time for the morning rush Monday, after a crash left five people injured overnight.

The crash happened in the outbound lanes of I-57 at 111th Street. Illinois State Police were notified around 1:30 a.m.

The driver lost control of a vehicle in the southbound lanes and veered off the road, before hitting several trees and a light pole. Three people were ejected from the vehicle.

Five people were hospitalized ‚Äď one in serious condition, two in fair condition, and two in good condition, according to Fire Media Affairs.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation Monday morning.
