One Dead, 3 Wounded In West Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 34-year-old man is dead, and three other men in their 40s were wounded, during a Tuesday morning shooting in the Garfield Park neighborhood.

The four men were standing on the corner in the 4200 block of West Wilcox Street when shots were fired about 11 a.m., police said.

One of the men, 34, was struck in the abdomen area and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

Cometra Hollins, of 4455 W. Jackson Blvd., was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 4:09 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

A 48-year-old man was shot in the back and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, a 41-year-old man was struck in the left leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition and a 43-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

Harrison District police said the attack is possibly gang or drug related.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
