Thief Steals Truckload Of Special K Bars In Aurora

AURORA, Ill. (CBS) -- Sometime in the past few weeks in Aurora, someone made off with a truckload of Special K.

And no, this story is not about some greedy drug dealers and a stash of ketamine. The thief in this case took literal Special K – the breakfast cereal – in the form of 8,000 snack bars and the truck that was storing them.

Aurora police said Wednesday that the thief struck between Nov. 23 and Dec. 5.

The trailer truck, which held more than $26,000 worth of the cereal bars, was taken from the 2700 block of North Eola Road, police said. The total loss was set at $51,600, police said.

Aurora police continue to investigate.
