Two Dead, One Wounded In River West Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men are dead and another man was wounded early Sunday following a shooting in the River West neighborhood.

The shooting occurred on the street in the 300 block of North Sangamon Street at 1:30 a.m. when three people became involved in an altercation, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

Jose Duckins, 30, of 3614 W. Franklin Blvd., was pronounced dead at 2:12 a.m. at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Robert Warren, 34, of 7350 N. Damen Ave., was pronounced dead three minutes later, also at Stroger, the medical examiner's office said.

Both men were shot in the chest, police said.

A third victim took himself to Rush University Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the arm, Greer said.

That person – a 21-year-old man – was listed in good condition Sunday morning, police said.

No one was in custody early Sunday.

Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
