Fort Wayne, Ind., Man Charged With Killing 9-Year-Old Girl, Cutting Up Body

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (CBS) -- A Fort Wayne, Ind., man is being held without bond, on charges that he brutally beat a 9-year-old girl to death and dismembered her body.

Michael Plumadore, 39, of Fort Wayne, is charged with murder in the death of Aliahna Lemmon, 9, who had been missing for more than four days, CBS affiliate WANE-TV reported.

Aliahna had been reported missing at 8:40 p.m. Eastern Time this past Friday, WANE reported. Plumadore lived in the same trailer park as her family, and Aliahna had been staying with him for the past week.

An affidavit issued by the Allen County, Ind., Sheriff's Department says Plumadore admitted to beating Aliahna to death with a brick, then stuffing her body into trash bags and hiding it in the freezer. He then sawed her up her body with a hacksaw, stuffed the remains into freezer bags, and hid some at his trailer and some in a dumpster at a nearby business, the affidavit said.

Plumadore directed Allen County detectivews to the little girl's head, feet and a hand in his freezer, where they were found on Monday, the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette reported.

The murder allegedly happened on Thursday night.

On Monday, FBI agents swarmed the Northway mobile home park where Plumadore lives, the Journal Gazette reported. The seedy trailer park is known as a haven for registered sex offenders, although Plumadore is not one, the Journal Gazette reported.

Aliahna's family lives in the same trailer park.

Aliahna's mother, Tara Souders, told the newspaper that her daughter suffered from vision, hearing and emotional problems, as well as attention deficit disorder. The girl and her two 6-year-old sisters were staying with Plumadore because their mother was sick with the flu, and Aliahna's stepfather works a night shift and has to sleep in the day, the Journal gazette reported.

Previously, Plumadore told the Journal Gazette that he left the three girls in his trailer early Friday morning as he went to a gas station to buy a cigar. Then he claimed he smoked the cigar, went back to sleep, and noticed upon waking up that the door to his trailer was unlocked and Aliahna was gone, the newspaper reported.
