Latest Chicago Weather Forecast

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Conditions more befitting of late October than late December will continue for the rest of the day Thursday, with sunshine and temperatures rising to the mid-40s.

The forecast high is 45, but at 11 a.m., it was already 47 degrees in Peru, Ill., reports CBS 2 Meteorologist Megan Glaros.

But on Thursday night, rain or a rain-snow mix can be expected. Glaros warns that the early morning commute Friday will resemble Thursday, with dangerous ice accumulating on bridges and overpasses and causing hazards that could lead to accidents.

Rest of Thursday:

Thursday Night:

Friday:
Cloudy. Rain or snow in the morning...then a chance of rain showers in the afternoon. No snow accumulation. Highs in the lower 40s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.
