Elderly Man Dies After Crash In South Suburb
TINLEY PARK, Ill. (STMW) -- An 80-year-old Tinley Park man died Saturday, four days after he was in an auto accident in the south suburb.
Joseph Melilla, of 9101 174th St. in Tinley Park, was involved in an auto accident at 171st Street and 88th Avenue in Tinley Park on Dec. 26, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
He died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the medical examiner's office.
An autopsy Saturday found he died of multiple injuries from a motor vehicle collision, and his death was an accident, the medical examiner's office said. Heart disease was also a contributing factor in his death, according to the medical examiner's office.
