CHICAGO (STMW) – One man was killed and another was critically injured in an Avondale stabbing Saturday afternoon on the Northwest Side, police said.
Numerous people approached a pair of 24-year-old men outside in the 4000 block of West Melrose Street about 3:45 p.m. and stabbed them, police said.
Anthony Diaz, his address unknown, was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 3:57 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The other man was listed in critical condition at the same hospital, police said.
Nobody is in custody Sunday morning and Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
