Man Found Shot To Death In Edgewater Alley

CHICAGO (CBS) — A man was found shot to death Monday night in an alley in the Winthrop-Kenmore corridor in Edgewater.

The man man was found about 11:45 p.m. in an alley behind the 5800 block of North Kenmore Avenue, police said. He had been shot multiple times.

The victim, identified as Aaron Price, 32, of the 5300 block of North Winthrop Avenue, was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The shooting happened in the Winthrop-Kenmore corridor, which runs from the Loyola University Lake Shore campus south into the Uptown neighborhood.

While conditions on the two parallel streets have improved dramatically in recent decades, the area has long struggled with crime, poverty and low-quality housing.
