CHICAGO (CBS) — A teenager was shot and killed late Tuesday in the South Side’s Auburn-Gresham neighborhood.
The 18-year-old boy was shot around 11:45 p.m. in the 8400 block of South Peoria Street, police said.
The unidentified victim was was pronounced dead at 12:45 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
He remained unidentified Wednesday morning because his family had not been notified, according to the medical examiner’s office.
No one was in custody early Wednesday.

Shot in Chicago at 11:45, pronounced dead in Oak Lawn at 12:45. Dead because of a 60 minute ambulance ride, necessary because there are no more emergency wards open on the south side of Chicago. This kind of useless death happens weekly, sometimes daily.
