(WSCR) More than a week has gone by since the firing of general manager Jerry Angelo, and the Bears have yet to interview a single candidate.
NFL expert Hub Arkush said the Bears’ decision to retain head coach Lovie Smith regardless of who the new GM is may be hurting their search.
“I’m not saying that Lovie Smith should be fired,” Arkush told The Boers and Bernstein Show. “I don’t think he should be fired. But I think when you start the GM search by saying, ‘You’ve only got one restriction — you’re stuck with this coach for the first year.’ Immediately, you’ve set the table improperly.
