CHICAGO (CBS) — A woman was in police custody Thursday morning, after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death during an argument in the East Lakeview neighborhood.
Police say the 42-year-old woman stabbed her boyfriend, also 42, in the abdomen while they argued in an apartment in the 600 block of West Patterson Avenue – a short block between Broadway and Pine Grove Avenue – about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.
The victim, Brian Hawkins, of the 2500 block of East 77th Street, was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 11 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The stabbing happened in a seven-story, 63-unit building on the dense residential block
Charges against the woman were pending early Thursday, police said.
