Man Arrested For Soliciting Undercover Cop Posing As 14-Year-Old Girl
CRETE, Ill. (CBS) -- A Chicago man was arrested in south suburban Crete last week for arranging to meet and have sex with a 14-year-girl who turned out to be an undercover police officer.
Jesus C. Martinez, 41, was charged with indecent solicitation of a child, traveling within the state with the intent of having sex with a child unlawful grooming.
Chuck Pelkie, a spokesman for the Will County state's attorney's office, said Martinez was talking to who he thought was a 14-year-old girl from Dec. 29 to Jan. 12. He was arrested after agreeing to meet with her Jan. 12.
Bail has been set at $50,000. Martinez is due back in court at the Will County Courthouse on Feb. 3.
