(CBS) Kerry Wood was seriously considering signing with the White Sox and if it wasn’t for one last meeting with the Cubs, the reliever may have ended up on the South Side of town, according to CSNChicago.com’s David Kaplan.
For the second straight season, the White Sox pursued Wood, but this time they almost got him. Last year, Wood turned down the White Sox’ 2-year, $10 million deal in favor of the Cubs’ 1-year, $1.5 million deal, according to the report, but this year, as talks with the Cubs stalled, he considered making the jump.
Terms of the White Sox’s offer were not revealed in the report, but eventually Wood had one last meeting with Tom Ricketts and Theo Epstein and decided to stay with the Cubs.

Thank God the Sox did not get him.
He’s one year older and slower.

you mean the exact same uniform as the cubs, but black, grey and white instead of white, blue and red?
