CHICAGO (CBS) – The new Drew Peterson movie debuting this weekend is being called poison, and the criticism has nothing to do with leading man Rob Lowe’s acting skills.

One person who will be watching “Untouchable” is the only surviving sister of Stacy Peterson, Cassandra Cales, who believes the former Bolingbrook cop murdered her sibling. But even though she plans to watch the movie, she strongly disapproves of it.

“I live it every day,” Cales tells CBS 2’s Mike Puccinelli. “And just to see it played on TV to entertain everybody, that’s going to hurt.  And to see people profit from it is disgusting.”

Cales wants her sister to be portrayed accurately.  She’s at least hopeful that the movie will generate new interest and possibly new leads more than four years after Stacy disappeared.

She says she’ll never stop looking.

“I won’t stop, and she will be found,” Cales says.

Drew Peterson’s defense attorney, Joel Brodsky, has already seen “Untouchable,” which airs Saturday evening on the Lifetime network.

“It’s a fairy tale,” Brodsky says.

Brodsky says even the name of the movie is wrong, considering Drew Peterson has been in the Will County Jail for nearly 1,000 days.

And he had this message for anyone interested in sitting in judgment of his client: “If you want to be on the jury that hears this case, don’t watch the movie. Don’t talk to anybody who’s watched the movie.”

CBS 2 legal analyst Irv Miller says typically media companies wait for a conviction before releasing a book or movie based on real life events.

And he says the release of the film will poison the jury pool and possibly give the defense attorneys grounds to ask that the trial be moved.

“I think it is more likely that he will be convicted of murder because the jurors will be biased. They will be prejudiced because of this movie,” Miller says.

Brodsky says if Peterson is eventually acquitted of murder charges, the movie company will almost immediately be sued for portraying him as a double murderer.

Drew Peterson is considered a suspect in his wife Stacy’s disappearance. He is being held on charges related to the death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

I think you need a “not” between the “will” and “be” in paragraph two, CBS2. Who edits these articles?

I probably won’t watch this movie because it’s probably playing on a channel I never watch.

    Spoiler Alert.

    He did it. Both times.

    • Jack

Sorry, Larry, there hasn’t been one single piece of evidence that proves that. The entire case is based on speculation. They’re going to need something more for a conviction!!!

      • Team Kaley

So correct Jack. They even had to bring in an ‘expert’ from the east coast for the autopsy, that went in saying he did it and surprise, surprise when he came out announced that Ms. Savio was killed.

      • Jack

@Team Kaley, The second autopsy was bought and paid for by the Savio family. Nobody has yet elaborated what the second pathologist found that the first county coroner didn’t. I think it was the paycheck!!!.

      • Team Kaley

@Jack….I know. I think Drew is a jerk, icky, and general a-hole….never would date him.

      • Sandi

        Jack,
How do YOU know what evidence there is? Has the prosecution given you audience to the evidence? Just because you may know what the public has been told does not mean that you know all of the evidence. But since you made a statement saying there is no evidence, please tell how you know that, unless YOU are the killer.

      • DONNA

SORRY TO SAY JACK IS RIGHT. MY HUSBAND IS A RETIRED POLICE OFFICER OF 43 YEARS . HE SAYS THE SAME THING. THIS MOVIE SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ALLOWED TO BE SHOWN UNTIL AFTER THE TRIAL….

WE ALL KNOW HE IS GUILTY, BUT WILL HE BE FOUND QUILTY ?!
I HAVE ONLY ONE THING TO SAY… THEY HAVE THE PERFECT IDIOT PLAYING DREW PETERSON…..

  • Team Kalry

Think of the source of this movie…Lifetime….Men are always guilty on that network.

Is Peterson a complete idiot and jerk…yes. Did he kill wife 3 or 4? Who knows. But keeping him in jail in solitary for 3 years now is a gross miscarriage of justice.

And Larry…you are correct, they are missing a ‘NOT’ in their second paragraph.

    • DONNA

      TEAM KALRY….

PETERSON HAS TO KEPT IN SOLITARY OR HE WOULD BE “DEAD “. COPS ARE NOT VERY MUCH LIKED IN JAIL…..

      • Team Kaley

But why is he still in Jail? Speedy Trail….Cruel\Unusual Punishment…Due Process….2-3 years sitting in jail is not Right, regardless of their presumed guilt or innocence. If convicted, he’d better be glad that Ryan and Blago got rid of the Death Penalty.

Personally I think the airing of this movie will force a mis-trial after mis-trial because one will never find an impartial jury now.

    • denise

Funny how people see what they want to see and just to clarify, just because it is being shown on LIfetime does not mean that ALL men are guilty as that is not true.. There are too many women picking up losers due to their own poor CHOICES and that has nothing to do with television !!!!!!!!!

  • Bill S

My advice to everyone: “Don’t F-up in Will County. They keep people in jail for jaywalking , forever.”

    • sarino

@ bill s. are you nuts, where else can you go and commit murder and get away with it? stacy peterson, savio, lisa stebic, who knows how many more. will county is the place to be, kill and hack em up for free, no need to go to jaill./l. keep cook county and give me those bumpkin bribes (green acres song)

  • Micheal Savage

Whether you like the guy or you don’t like him,I just can’t believe our laws and justice system allows a movie to be shown, when the person has not been brought to trial yet,how can someone get a fair trial regardless,I believe its taking peoples rights to a fair trial away from them, there have been many men and women were the evidence points to them yet they were innocent even after they were convicted.

  • Drew Peterson From Joliet

I hope that I and my fellow timesters can watch this show, it should be interesting. I always wanted to see someone bring the dead back to life, by that I mean Rob Lowes career. Please send me some candy bars and maybe some pantyhose (size waist 44) Thanks, Drew.

  • Lyndia

Why make a film before the man goes on trial? Did he kill his wives? He probably did. Will he get convicted? That remains to be seen. Where is the evidence? He disposed of wife #4 and her remains will never b found. Wife #3 drowned in any empty tub (if you can believe that.) I hate to say this but Drew, Drew, Drew YOU ARE NOT AN OJ. OR ARE YOU?

  • Carole

Point blank, they should NOT allow this movie to air. All it’s going to do is cause mis-trial after mis-trial and the movie will be the reason. Shame on anyone who watches it.

  • Bill S

The movie sucked. James Glasgow wasn’t even portrayed — nor all us fine folk out here in Joliet. Boo!

  • King Marie

I thought the movie was great! I went to my mom’s just to watch it tonight.

  • trent

The movie is unjustly and Drew is being portrayed and arrested on nothing but “hear-say”.How can this man get a fair trial now??? there will never be a conviction in this case now …. thanks a lot Lifetime !!!!!!

    • Bill S

RIGHT ON!! Lifetime is now responsible for letting Drew walk. Cancel COMMIECAST and LIFETIME !!

    • Fry Him

Watching it I moved from on the fence about Peterson to why doesn’t Illinois have the Death Penalty for him….

  • scott

Anyone who thinks this guy is innocent is an idiot.

    • I-D-ten-T from Will Co.

I haven’t heard or seen anything yet that makes me think, without a doubt, that this s-hole of a man killed either of his wives. I’ll wait for the trial and see then.
