BIG ROCK, Ill. (CBS) — Nine children, a driver and another adult were hurt Friday when a school bus crashed in Kane County.

The Kane County Sheriff’s office says the crash happened around 8:10 a.m. on Granart Road near Camp Dean Road, near Big Rock.

LISTEN: WBBM Newsradio’s Nancy Harty Reports

The school bus, which was southbound on Granart, somehow left the road, hit a drainage ditch and was left flipped over on its side in a field along side the road.

All nine students, who were wearing seat belts, as well as the bus driver, were taken to area hospitals. The children, including six with special needs, were en route to Krejci Academy and Mansion High School in Naperville.

None of the injuries appear to be life threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.

Big Rock is located west of Sugar Grove in southwestern Kane County.

Schnozzles

Second bus wreak in two days. It’s time to take a good look at the need to have these yellow limos out there. They are dangerous and the drivers are rude to other drivers, constantly block streets, drive irratically and take their sweet time loading and unloading passangers.

I’m sorry to say this article is repulsively inaccurate! I am one of the students who was on this bus, and Illinois central bus company is not the hero but the one to blame. they choose to ignore the concerns of myself, my fellow students, drivers on the road, and a police officer who pulled over my earlier this year for falling asleep at the wheel. No one listened to me when I tried to put a stop to this and after reading this article no one still is listening to the truth but hopefully this well help bring attention to this issue if you want to know more about what really happened I will be more than willing to speak to you.
