(WSCR) Though Phil Emery divulged little information on his plan for the Bears, one NFL expert said that’s exactly what he intended to do.
“Phil Emery is not going to be the guy who goes to the podium and gives you the “Mr. Good Bar” references,” Zach Zaidman told The Mully and Hanley Show. “He’s not going to whistle Dixie. He’s not really going to tell you anything. I think that’s part of the way he operates. It’s “the Patriot way.” I think, behind closed doors though, he’s the guy. I think if you needed proof of that, it’s the fact that Tim Ruskell is no longer here. It’s the fact that (Emery) is going to be the guy who is going to be running the draft. He’s not even hiring anyone until after the draft. … He’s basically telling you, ‘I’m confident enough in my college scouting ability to be able to handle this on my own. I’m confident in my ability to scout NFL players.'”
