(WSCR) While some may discredit the importance of national signing day, one college football expert knows how big it really is.

“Today is a huge day,” Gerry DiNardo of the Big Ten Network told The McNeil and Spiegel Show. “The (player) rankings do matter. If people watch today, they’ll see the SEC will have four teams ranked in the top 10 and another three raking from 10-15.  That in itself is the formula to be the best conference in America. It’ll always be that formula because those rankings reflect — not guarantee –  in most likelihood who the best college football players will be in two or three years.
