BOSTON (CBS) – When Tom Brady takes the field for the Patriots on Sunday evening, he’ll be protected by his offensive line and the power of prayer.

The New York Post on Thursday morning posted an email that was sent from Brady’s wife, Gisele Bundchen, to family and friends, urging them to pray for “Tommy.”

“This Sunday will be a really important day in my husband’s life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this Super Bowl,” Gisele wrote, according the report. “So I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him, so he can feel confident, healthy and strong. Envision him happy and fulfilled experiencing with his team a victory this Sunday.”

The Post used the email to suggest that the world-famous supermodel is not entirely confident in “Tommy’s” chances of winning on Sunday. She, however, refused to discuss further with the newspaper, simply telling the Post she was “surprised” the email was obtained because “it was a private note only sent to close friends and family.”

The story was juicy enough for the Post to run it on the front page, with the accompanying headline, “Not A Prayer!”

Brady was asked about the email on Thursday morning in Indianapolis.

“Honestly, I don’t know what happened. I don’t know anything about that,” Brady told reporters. “I don’t even know if she sent an email to anybody, so I don’t know. I don’t know what it is.”

Earlier this week, Brady said his wife did offer some advice for the game against the Giants.

“Throw the ball quickly,” Brady said of his wife’s football tips. “She doesn’t like it when I get hit very often.”
