Man Shot Dead On Street In North Lawndale

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 28-year-old man is dead after being shot less than a block from his home Wednesday in the North Lawndale neighborhood.

Johnny Henderson, 28, was shot multiple times in the 1900 block of South Troy Street, just east of Kedzie Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police said he was shot in the leg and groin during the attack, which happened at 3:26 p.m.

"He may have been involved in an argument with someone earlier," News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

Following the shooting, "unknown individuals dropped him off at Mount Sinai Hospital," Mirabelli said.

Henderson, who lived in the 1800 block of South Troy Street, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital at 5:30 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

Harrison Area detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
