The Oakland A’s decided to take a chance on the 39-year-old slugger Manny Ramirez, offering him a one-year contract worth $500,000.
As Ramirez reported to camp for the first time, he approached relief pitcher Brett Anderson – who has earned a 3.66 ERA in 62 career appearances – and ask him if he was the video coordinator.
