Blackhawks Acquire Defenseman Oduya, Trade John Scott

(CBS) The Blackhawks have acquired veteran defenseman Johnny Oduya from the Winnipeg Jets.

Oduya has two goals and 11 assists in 63 games with the Jets this season. The 30-year-old Swedish defenseman is in his seventh year in the NHL and comes to the Blackhawks after three years with the with the Jets/Thrashers franchise.

The Blackhawks sent a second and third round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft to Winnipeg in exchange for Oduya. The defenseman is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

In a separate deal, the Blackhawks also sent defenseman John Scott to the Rangers for a fifth-round pick for Scott.

Forward Andrew Shaw was also recalled from Rockford.
