Motorcyclist Struck, Killed By Metra Train In Orland Park

ORLAND PARK, Ill. (CBS) -- A motorcyclist was struck and killed by a Metra train in Orland Park overnight.

The SouthWest Service Metra train hit the motorcycle around 12:45 a.m. Friday, near 175th Street and Wolf Road, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.

The 50-year-old Tinley Park man was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

As of 6:15 a.m., busy Wolf Road was closed between Southwest Highway and 179th Street, as crews clean up and police investigate the accident.

Metra trains will not be affected, reports CBS 2's Kris Habermehl.
