CHICAGO (WSCR) — Former NFL player Matt Bowen joined the Rosenbloom and Grote show on 670 The Score Saturday to talk about the piece he wrote for the Chicago Tribune on Gregg Williams and the bounty rule violations in New Orleans.
Having played under Williams with the Redskins, Bowen shared his insight on how the players arranged the bounty rules and what really happened behind closed doors.
“They were clean hits… This was clean, hard football, but it was used as a motivational tool. That’s what it really came down to,” Bowen told Steve Rosenbloom and Mark Grote.
“Unfortunately, that’s part of NFL football. That’s been going on a long time and I was just a part of it as a player.”
